Q2: A woman is menstruating, and her husband demanded intercourse from her by force. What is the ruling on this, specifying what is required of the husband and what is required of her? Does the ruling differ if it is by consent, if the wife is willing?
A2: It is forbidden for the husband to have intercourse with his menstruating wife. He may enjoy any part of her body he wishes, other than intercourse, after she has put on a garment. If he has intercourse with her in her private parts, he must give half a dinar in charity as expiation for that. She also owes half a dinar if she consented to him, otherwise she owes nothing. And success is from Allah, and may Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and his Companions.
