Tayammum for Fear of Missing the Time and Tayammum Without an Excuse
Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The first question of Fatwa No. ( 15835 )
Q1. Is tayammum for fear of missing the time permissible, does tayammum without an excuse invalidate the wudu', and is the prayer valid?
A1 : If one finds water, it is obligatory for him to purify himself with it, even if he fears that the time will pass, and it is not permissible to turn away from it to tayammum except for a valid legal excuse that prevents him from using the water, such as illness or fear of thirst; this is because Allah only prescribed tayammum in the absence of water or the inability to use it. If one performs tayammum while water is available without an excuse, his prayer is not valid; due to the lack of its condition of validity, which is purity.
And success is from Allah, and may Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and his Companions.
