Memorizing the Qur'an Without a Teacher

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The fourth question from fatwa number ( 19282 )
Q 4: One of the professors advised me not to delve into memorizing the Book of Allah without a shaykh ; lest something happen that is not praiseworthy. Is this correct?
A 4 : It is good to learn the recitation of the Qur'an from a reciter who is proficient in recitation, if that is possible. If it is not possible, then you should try to read the Qur'an according to your ability; due to the saying of Allah the Exalted:
Allah does not charge a soul except [with that within] its capacityلاَ يُكَلِّفُ اللَّهُ نَفْسًا إِلا وُسْعَهَا
[Al-Baqarah 2:286]
, and due to the saying of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him):
and he who falters in it, and finds it difficult for him, will have two rewards.والذي يقرأ القرآن ويتتعتع فيه وهو عليه شاق له أجران
Sahih Muslim 798a
. And success is from Allah, and may Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and his Companions.
