Paying money in expiation

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Fatwa number ( 7691 )
Q: The father bequeathed ten expiations for oaths, so how do we discharge the ten expiations, and is it permissible to pay them out in cash?
A Each of the ten expiations mentioned is: feeding ten poor people, or clothing them, or freeing a believing slave. In feeding, it suffices to give each of them half a sa' (a dry measure of about 3 kg) of wheat, rice, or the like of what is commonly eaten. If he gives ten poor people what is required for the ten expiations, with each person receiving five sa' (a dry measure of about 3 kg), that suffices. It is not permissible to pay money in lieu of that.
And success is from Allah, and may Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and his Companions. Money in expiation
