Q12: What is the ruling on listening to songs and poetry ?
A 12 : Listening to songs is forbidden, as for poetry, if it contains rulings, proverbs, admonitions, and other good matters, it is permissible, and if it
poetry is forbidden or calls for leaving an obligatory act, its use is forbidden. And success is from Allah, and may Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and his Companions.
