The Vow of Slaughter in the Month of Rajab

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Fatwa No. ( 15839 )
Q: She vowed to herself to fast ten days in the month of Rajab every year, along with slaughtering a sheep, without specifying its type. She fasted for eleven years and slaughtered one sheep, and she gave charity on behalf of twenty years. She asks what is obligatory upon her, and whether giving charity suffices for the days she did not fast, or whether she is required to fast and slaughter, and whether it is permissible for her and her family to eat from the slaughtered animal or not? I hope you will inform me. May Allah reward you with good.
A: Vowing to slaughter in the month of Rajab, and vowing to single it out or single out some of its days for fasting, is disliked; because that is from the matters of the pre-Islamic age of ignorance. Therefore, it is obligatory upon the questioner to expiate with the expiation of an oath for the slaughtered animal, and for the fasting
days, which is: freeing a believing slave, or feeding ten poor people, giving each poor person half a sa' (a dry measure of about 3 kg) of the local staple food, which is approximately one and a half kilograms, or clothing them. If she is unable to do any of what is mentioned, she must fast for three days. And success is from Allah, and may Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and his Companions.
