One of his parents orders him to do something that is considered a disgrace among people

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Fatwa number ( 14309 )
Q: One of my parents—may Allah prolong their lives—ordered me to do a deed that, if I did it, would result in me being disgraced in the eyes of people. I did not do it. Also, if one of my parents orders me to ask about something in a place where asking about it would be considered a disgrace among people, I did not do it. O honorable Shaykh: What is obligatory for me in these matters? Please inform us, may Allah reward you with good.
A: If what they ordered you to do is a sin against Allah, then it is not permissible to obey them. You must inform them, with gentleness and ease, that it is a sin against Allah and not permissible to do. And do something that pleases them that does not involve a sin. However, if what they ordered you to do is something you consider a disgrace, such as calling out for a lost item or the like, then obeying them is obligatory. You must carry out what they ordered you to do, or appoint someone to do it, or make the best excuse to them that pleases them; for Allah the Exalted said:
(23) And your Lord has decreed that you not worship except Him, and to parents, good treatment. Whether one or both of them reach old age [while] with you, say not to them [so much as], "uff," and do not repel them but speak to them a noble word. (24) And lower to them the wing of humility out of mercy and say, "My Lord, have mercy upon them as they brought me up [when I was] small."
[Al-Isra 17:23-24]

And success is from Allah, and may Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad and his family and his Companions.
