If one repents for undutifulness to his parents after their death, is his repentance accepted?

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Fatwa No. ( 16595 )
Q: Will Allah forgive the sin of a man who was undutiful to his parents, who were Muslims, during their lives until they died while angry with him, given that he repented to Allah, regretted what he had done, and sought forgiveness? And will Allah forgive the sin of a man who committed unlawful sexual intercourse with another man's wife, who fears that if he asks her husband for forgiveness, he will be punished by the husband and destroyed?
A: Repentance is obligatory for all sins, and Allah forgives the repentant person all
sins if his repentance is valid, as the Exalted said:
Say, "O My servants who have transgressed against themselves [by sinning], do not despair of the mercy of Allah. Indeed, Allah forgives all sinsقُلْ يَا عِبَادِيَ الَّذِينَ أَسْرَفُوا عَلَى أَنْفُسِهِمْ لاَ تَقْنَطُوا مِنْ رَحْمَةِ اللَّهِ إِنَّ اللَّهَ يَغْفِرُ الذُّنُوبَ جَمِيعًا
[Az-Zumar 39:53]
It is prescribed for the one who was undutiful to his parents until they died to make much supplication for them if they were Muslims, to give charity on their behalf, to pay off any debts they had if they had debts and no estate from which to pay them, and to carry out their bequests if they had lawful bequests. And success is from Allah, and may Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and his Companions.
