Repentance from Undutifulness to Parents

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Fatwa No. ( 8495 )
Q: I am a young man, nineteen years old. My father and mother are well, praise be to Allah, and they are still alive. I started my life happily until I reached maturity, and I went through the stage known as adolescence. My happy life turned into hell. Yes, I first sinned against Allah by abandoning prayer, abandoning fasting, betraying trusts, and swearing false oaths by Allah. I forgot that there is a Day of Reckoning. I also sinned against my parents in terms of dutifulness; whenever my father or mother said a word, I would return it to them double. I became undutiful to my parents. Satan, may Allah protect us from him, made me forget the verses of Allah in His saying:
say not to them [so much as], "uff," and do not repel them but speak to them a noble word.
[Al-Isra 17:23]
I am writing these lines because I want to repent to Allah so that He forgives me and has mercy on me. There is an important matter I want to tell you: my father
and my mother speak well of my eldest brother in gatherings and to people. I am the opposite; I find nothing from them but cursing, insulting, and worse, beating me in front of people, in front of my friends and enemies. They still live in the age of the ancients; they have not developed their approach toward me, nor even shown me any respect. I have become like an animal with no respect or appreciation. I tried to correct the mistake by doing better, but I failed. The parents look down on me because I am the youngest son in the family. And it is true that no matter what I do, I will not be able to repay them for their kindness. I will not prolong this on you. I hope your Eminence will provide an immediate solution.

A: First: We advise you to repent to Allah, Glorified and Exalted is He, with a repentance that includes regret for the sin, the resolve not to return to it and to cut it off, and to increase in good deeds thereafter, for good deeds erase bad ones. Allah the Exalted said:
But indeed, I am the Perpetual Forgiver of whoever repents and believes and does righteousness and then continues in guidance.
[Taha 20:82]
And He said:
(68) And those who do not invoke with Allah another deity or kill the soul which Allah has forbidden [to be killed], except by right, and do not commit unlawful sexual intercourse. And whoever should do that will meet a penalty. (69) Multiplied for him is the punishment on the Day of Resurrection, and he will abide therein humiliated - (70) Except for those who repent, believe and do righteous work. For them Allah will replace their evil deeds with good. And ever is Allah Forgiving and Merciful.
[Al-Furqan 25:68-70]

Second: We advise you to be dutiful to your parents no matter what harm you receive from them, for their dutifulness and obedience lead to their satisfaction with their son, and in their satisfaction is the satisfaction of Allah. In the hadith:
The satisfaction of the Lord is in the satisfaction of the parents, and the anger of the Lord is in the anger of the parents
. We hope that if you repent to Allah, your conduct becomes upright, you engage in good deeds, and you avoid major sins, your parents and others will love you. Allah the Exalted said:
Indeed, those who have believed and done righteous deeds - the Most Merciful will appoint for them affection.
[Maryam 19:96]
May Allah guide you and us to sincere repentance that will be the cause of our success in attaining the satisfaction and pleasure of Allah. He is the All-Hearing, the Responsive. And success is from Allah, and may Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and his Companions.
