A woman swore that she would not ride in a jeep of any kind

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The second question of Fatwa No. ( 5849 )
Q2: A woman swore that she would not ride in a jeep of any kind, as she had ridden one type of these vehicles and suffered from the harshness of riding it; because she traveled on an unpaved road, and this is what
compelled her to swear. She also swore that she would not enter their house in another city. She wants to ride in jeeps and enter the house, so what should she do? Does she have to fast or not? And if she must fast, how many days does she fast for the two oaths?

A2: There is no blame on her for riding in jeeps, nor for entering the house. If she rides in a jeep or enters the house, she breaks her oath and owes one expiation for the oath for riding in jeeps, and a second expiation for entering the house. The expiation is: feeding ten poor people from the middle of one’s food, or clothing them, or freeing a believing slave. If she does not find the food, nor the clothing, nor the slave, she fasts three days for each oath; by His saying, the Exalted:
Allah will not impose blame upon you for what is meaningless in your oaths, but He will impose blame upon you for [breaking] what you intended of oaths. So its expiation is the feeding of ten needy people from the average of that which you feed your [own] families or clothing them or the freeing of a slave. But whoever cannot find [or afford it] - then a fast of three days [is required]. That is the expiation for oaths when you have sworn. But guard your oaths. Thus does Allah make clear to you His verses that you may be grateful.
[Al-Ma'idah 5:89]
, and by his saying, the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him):
and whenever you take an oath to do something and later you find that something else is better than the first, then do the better one and make expiation for your oath.
Sahih al-Bukhari 6622
It is agreed upon as authentic.
And success is from Allah, and may Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and his Companions.
