Guidance for one who mistreats his first wife

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Question:
His final question in this episode is: His father married another woman, and at that time he treated his mother with severe mistreatment, even though his mother describes her as being kind to her father. What is your guidance, Your Eminence?
May Allah reward you with good.

Answer:
It is obligatory to advise the father, to encourage him to be just, and to warn him against injustice; for he commits a sin by doing so. It is obligatory for him to be just between the two wives. In an authentic hadith, the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
When a man has two wives and he is inclined to one of them, he will come on the Day of resurrection with a side hanging down.من كانت له امرأتان، فمال إلى إحداهما، جاء يوم القيامة وشقه مائل
Sunan Abi Dawud 2133Sahih (Al-Albani)
This is an apparent punishment. We ask Allah for well-being.
The point is: It is obligatory to be just. Likewise, it is obligatory to advise the father and urge him to be just. The mother is advised to be patient, to endure, and to forgive her father, so that the family may be reunited, and so that Allah may guide him if he sees her forgiveness and kind words. He may return to the right path, submit, and appreciate her good feelings. If he refuses to be just, she may seek divorce. If she wishes divorce, she may seek divorce. Yes.

The presenter: May Allah reward you with good.
