Giving a disabled person a treatment that relieves him

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The second question of Fatwa No. ( 17639 )
Q 2: My father took my youngest disabled brother to one of the psychiatrists to prescribe medication for him, as he is extremely mischievous and finds nothing in front of him that he does not spoil. Therefore, we live in anxiety because of him. Accordingly, the doctor prescribed him sedative pills, and when he takes these pills, he sleeps for a long time. My father has been giving them to him regularly for months, and as a result, my brother is forced to sleep all day, every day. So, is
there any sin on my father for doing so, considering that he is compelled to give him the medication because my brother is not normal? We ask your eminence to inform us of the permissibility of this matter and the opinion of the religion regarding it, and may Allah reward you with the best reward.

A 2: It is permissible to give a disabled person medication that relieves him and brings him sleep, provided that this does not result in health hazards or delay the prayer from its time if he is of age and accountable. And success is from Allah, and may Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and his Companions.
