Q1: I have a brother who was involved in an accident and a man died with him, and he was obligated to fast. Is it permissible for me to fast with him as a form of helping him ? Because he has work to do?
A1: It is not permissible for you to help your brother or anyone else by fasting the expiation for accidental killing; because fasting does not allow representation on behalf of a living person. And success is from Allah, and may Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and his Companions.
