Q 9: Whatis the ruling on a woman observing a mourning period of more than three days for someone other than her husband, and what is the ruling on her observing a mourning period of more than four months and ten days for her husband?Since, in some tribes, such as some of the tribes of the South, a woman observes a mourning period for her husband and for someone other than her husband for more than a year. .
A 9: A woman is not permitted to observe mourning for more than three days for anyone other than her husband, nor is she permitted to observe mourning for her husband for more than four months and ten days, except if she is pregnant, in which case she observes mourning for him until she gives birth; based on the hadith:
It is not lawful for a woman who believers in Allah and the Last Day to mourn for the dead more than three days, except for her husband (in which case it is) four months and ten days.لا يحل لامرأة تؤمن بالله واليوم الآخر أن تحد على ميت فوق ثلاثة أيام إلا على زوج أربعة أشهر وعشرا
