Q5: After the death of a man, his wife observes ihdad for approximately a year or more. The woman wears a type of cloth called (al-Damuriyyah), and she does not speak at all before the Maghrib prayer. She refuses to observe ihdad for four months and ten days, and does not leave the deceased's house. Most of them observe mourning for a year, and sometimes two years. Please issue a ruling, may you be rewarded, regarding the Shari'ah prescribed manner of ihdad and its conditions and its duration, so that we may read it to our women. May you have abundant thanks.
A5: The ihdad of a woman whose husband has died is four months and ten days, based on the saying of Allah, Glorified and Exalted is He:[Al-Baqarah 2:234] and His saying, peace and blessings be upon him:
Sunan an-Nasa'i 3504Sahih (Darussalam) It is agreed upon that it is authentic. This applies to a woman who is not pregnant. As for the pregnant woman, she observes 'iddah and ihdad for her husband until she gives birth. Once she gives birth, she exits the 'iddah and ihdad, even if it is a short time after her husband's death, based on the saying of Allah, Mighty and Majestic: [At-Talaq 65:4] And in (al-Sahihayn) And success is from Allah, and may Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and his Companions.

And those who are taken in death among you and leave wives behind - they, [the wives, shall] wait four months and ten [days]
وَالَّذِينَ يُتَوَفَّوْنَ مِنْكُمْ وَيَذَرُونَ أَزْوَاجًا يَتَرَبَّصْنَ بِأَنْفُسِهِنَّ أَرْبَعَةَ أَشْهُرٍ وَعَشْرًاIt is not permissible for a woman who believes in Allah and the Last Day to mourn for anyone who dies for more than three days except for a husband; she should mourn for him for four months and ten (days).
لا تحد امرأة على ميت فوق ثلاثة أيام، إلا على زوج، فإنها تحد عليه أربعة أشهر وعشراAnd for those who are pregnant, their term is until they give birth
وَأُولاتُ الأَحْمَالِ أَجَلُهُنَّ أَنْ يَضَعْنَ حَمْلَهُنَّThat the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, issued a ruling to Subay'ah al-Aslamiyyah when she gave birth after the death of her husband, stating that she had exited the 'iddah.
أن النبي -صلى الله عليه وسلم- أفتى سبيعة الأسلمية لما وضعت حملها بعد وفاة زوجها فقال بأنها قد خرجت من العدة
