Q: I have a paternal uncle, and my brother has a son who married a woman and then divorced her. Is it permissible for me, who is his maternal uncle (his father’s brother), to marry her? Is it permissible for me to marry her or not? I mean that I want to marry the daughter of my maternal uncle’s son.
A: It is permissible for you to marry your nephew’s wife if he has divorced her and she has completed her waiting period. And success is from Allah, and may Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and his Companions.
