If a man participates with his wife in preventing pregnancy, is there a sin upon him?

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Fatwa number ( 4124 )
Q: If some men give their wives certain medications to stop them from giving birth permanently or for a short period for one of the purposes, is there a sin on the man for doing this or not? And likewise, if some women destroy their pregnancies at two months of pregnancy, is there a sin on such women for killing the fetus or not?
A: It is forbidden for a woman to take pills to prevent pregnancy permanently, and it is forbidden
for her husband or anyone else to cooperate with her in that. Both are sinful for their cooperation in sin and transgression, unless it is to avoid a danger feared for the woman, such as if she could only give birth through a C-section, in which case it is permissible to avert the danger. As for a short period for one of the purposes, its ruling follows that purpose. If it is a medical matter, it is permissible to preserve the woman. If it is fleeing from having many children, it is forbidden due to their bad opinion of Allah. The same ruling applies to aborting the pregnancy before the soul is breathed into it, such as aborting it at two months, for example. And success is from Allah, and may Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and his Companions.
