Q: If a woman becomes pregnant and two or three months have passed, and she induces an abortion out of fear of poverty, is that permissible or not?
A: If the situation is as described, inducing an abortion out of fear of poverty—which is destitution—then that is one of the major sins; because of the bad opinion it entails regarding Allah. And success is from Allah, and may Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and his Companions.
