The Ruling on Marriage

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The second question of Fatwa No. ( 21359 )
Q2: Since I am a student in the third year of secondary school, I want to delay my marriage until I complete my studies. However, I have heard that this is disliked in the Shari'ah. I am aware that I do not have the ability to marry at the appropriate age, and I am aware that there is a teacher who refused to marry despite being financially capable. I wanted to seek your advice. What is your opinion? My Muslim brothers: I hope you will provide me with the answers, as I am confused. Please accept my highest regards.
A2: Initiating marriage for a young man is a recommended practice (sunnah) for one who can afford the costs of marriage and fulfill the rights of the marital relationship; based on the saying of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him):
Young man, those of you who can support a wife should marry, for it keeps you from looking at strange women and preserves you from immorality; but those who cannot should devote themselves to fasting, for it is a means of suppressing sexual desire.يا معشر الشباب من استطاع منكم الباءة فليتزوج؛ فإنه أغض للبصر وأحصن للفرج، ومن لم يستطع فعليه بالصوم فإنه له وجاء
Mishkat al-Masabih 3080
It is agreed upon as authentic. And success is from Allah, and may Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and his Companions.
