Camel racing at wedding celebrations

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The first question of Fatwa number ( 16655 )
Q1: At wedding celebrations, a camel race is held, and then the groom distributes prizes to the owners of the winning camels, whether in the form of money or bags of barley. It is known that most grooms hold their wedding celebrations on credit. Is this practice valid?
A1: It is not prescribed to hold a camel race at a wedding celebration, due to the lack of appropriateness, and because it increases the costs of the marriage through the prizes the groom pays to the racers, as well as other harms.
And success is from Allah, and may Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and his Companions.
