The second question of Fatwa No. ( 18231 )
Q2: A man has two wives. He lives with one, and he has two sons and two daughters from her. The other is divorced, and he has one son and one daughter from her. The father raised all of them and gave the son of the divorced wife money to travel abroad. He traveled and came back with money, but he preferred himself with it, got married, bought land, and built a house with his mother and sister. It is known that the daughter is also still receiving a monthly salary from her father until now. Despite this, they do not treat their father with kindness, nor do they pray or fast. The father had a piece of agricultural land which he sold and distributed among all of them, each according to what belongs to him. In return, the children who are with their father put their own money into the land sold with their father to buy land and build on it, as did the mother. They work with him in a vegetable and grain shop, knowing that they reside with him and eat from his provision. One of them has married, and the other traveled to work in one of the wealthy countries and married. He used to send the money he accumulated to his father to complete the construction. They
are currently residing in this new house. The father has registered this entire building, as well as the shop, to the children who live and work with him. What is the ruling in this matter? And how can the amount due to each of them for their work over these years be calculated? Knowing that the burden of work is on him and the wife, because the father is now advanced in age. Please issue a ruling, may Allah reward you, for we fear that our father will be wronged by us or by him after his death, or that a dispute will arise among us. May Allah reward you with good.

A2: The father is obligated to be just among his children in what he gives them from his wealth, with the male receiving the share of two females; because the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
Be afraid of Allah, and be just to your children.اتقوا الله واعدلوا بين أولادكم
Sahih al-Bukhari 2587
. As for those who work with him, if they request compensation for their work, he should give them the same as he gives other workers as wages for their work. And those who gave him money with the intention of partnership become partners with him to the extent of the money they gave him. As for what he gives them from his wealth, he must be just among them, whether they are with him or outside of him, whether they work with him or not; because the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) commanded justice among them in gifts, and he called giving to some of them without others injustice. Therefore, the father must fear Allah in this matter.
And success is from Allah, and may Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and his Companions.
