What is your opinion regarding what Abu Hanifah and Abu Yusuf say?

The Shaykh : As for the other and final issue, which is the statement:

The questioner : Abu Hanifah and Abu Yusuf say: "Whoever catches the tashahhud with the imam has caught the Friday prayer, so let him pray two rak'ahs after the imam's taslim, and his Friday prayer is complete." Question: What is your opinion of this statement? I say: This statement is not correct. The correct view in this matter is what Imam al-Shafi'i and others held, that whoever catches one rak'ah of the Friday prayer has caught the Friday prayer, and if not, he prays it as Zuhr. This is also what we explained in my previously mentioned treatise, "The Beneficial Answers." There we clarified that Imam al-Shafi'i's opinion in this issue is the correct one: whoever catches one rak'ah of the Friday prayer has caught the Friday prayer, and whoever does not catch the Friday prayer must pray it as Zuhr.
