The ruling on intercourse with a menstruating woman and its consequences

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Your Eminence! The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: (Whoever visits a fortune-teller, a diviner, or a woman in her rear, or a menstruating woman, has disbelieved in what was revealed to Muhammad) Then the scholars of knowledge elaborated on this, meaning: if a man comes to his wife at the beginning of menstruation or when the blood is flowing.
The expiation is half a dinar at the beginning of menstruation, or a dinar when the blood is flowing,Then after that, if I read: if it was intentional, a dinar. So I hope you will elaborate on that, and may Allah reward you with good?
Intercourse with a menstruating woman is forbidden;because of the saying of Allah the Exalted:
so keep away from wives during menstruation. And do not approach them until they are pure. And when they have purified themselves, then come to them from where Allah has ordained for youفَاعْتَزِلُوا النِّسَاءَ فِي الْمَحِيضِ وَلا تَقْرَبُوهُنَّ حَتَّى يَطْهُرْنَ فَإِذَا تَطَهَّرْنَ فَأْتُوهُنَّ مِنْ حَيْثُ أَمَرَكُمُ اللَّهُ
[al-Baqarah: 222] And because intercourse with a menstruating woman is harmful to both the man and the woman, and the principle regarding what is harmful is that it is forbidden, because of the saying of Allah the Exalted:
And do not kill yourselves [or one another]وَلا تَقْتُلُوا أَنْفُسَكُمْ
[al-Nisa: 29] , but if he has intercourse with her during menstruation, or at its beginning, or when the blood is flowing, or at its end, the scholars (may Allah have mercy on them) differed on whether there is an expiation or not. This depends on the authenticity of the hadith reported on this matter. Some of them authenticated the hadith and acted upon it,And they said: he is obligated to pay a dinar or half of it, at his choice,And some of them said: in the order I mentioned: if it is when the blood is flowing, it is a dinar, and at its beginning and end, it is half a dinar,And some of them said: that it is at his choice absolutely. The precaution is for a person to give charity of a full dinar, which is approximately half a Saudi pound of gold. This is the most cautious approach.
