The issue of the exception regarding the eternity of Paradise
Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Your Eminence! Allah Mighty and Majestic says in Surat Hud to the people of the Fire: [Hud:107] And He said in the verse following it: [Hud:108] What is the intended meaning of the will here regarding the people of Paradise?
The meaning is that they will abide therein as long as the heavens and the earth remain, except for what your Lord wills in terms of what exceeds that;Because if this exception had not come and he had said: [Hud:107] lest one who is mistaken suppose that the duration of people’s stay in the Fire, or the stay of the blessed in Paradise, is limited to the duration of the heavens and the earth,So when he said: [Hud:107] the meaning becomes: they will exceed that by whatever Allah the Exalted wills them to exceed, and Allah the Exalted has clarified in another verse that this is eternal, both for the people of Paradise and for the people of the Fire. He said the Exalted regarding the people of the Fire in three verses of His speech that they will abide therein forever,As he said in Surat An-Nisa: [An-Nisa:168-169] And He said the Exalted in Surat Al-Ahzab: [Al-Ahzab:64-65] And He said the Exalted in Surat Al-Jinn: [Al-Jinn:23] .
As for the eternity regarding the people of Paradise, it is abundant in the Qur'an. Thus, the abode of the people of the Fire is eternal, and the abode of the people of Paradise is eternal. As for the exception, you have understood its aspect [Hud:107] .
[They will be] abiding therein as long as the heavens and the earth endure, except what your Lord should will. Indeed, your Lord is an effecter of what He intends.
And as for those who were [destined to be] prosperous, they will be in Paradise, abiding therein as long as the heavens and the earth endure, except what your Lord should will - a bestowal uninterrupted.
The meaning is that they will abide therein as long as the heavens and the earth remain, except for what your Lord wills in terms of what exceeds that;Because if this exception had not come and he had said:
as long as the heavens and the earth endure
مَا دَامَتِ السَّمَاوَاتُ وَالْأَرْضُexcept what your Lord should will
(168) Indeed, those who disbelieve and commit wrong [or injustice] - never will Allah forgive them, nor will He guide them to a path. (169) Except the path of Hell; they will abide therein forever. And that, for Allah, is [always] easy.
(64) Indeed, Allah has cursed the disbelievers and prepared for them a Blaze. (65) Abiding therein forever, they will not find a protector or a helper.
And whoever disobeys Allah and His Messenger - then indeed, for him is the fire of Hell; they will abide therein forever.
As for the eternity regarding the people of Paradise, it is abundant in the Qur'an. Thus, the abode of the people of the Fire is eternal, and the abode of the people of Paradise is eternal. As for the exception, you have understood its aspect
