Is supplication after reciting the Qur'an recommended, and is raising the hands after that permissible or not?

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The questioner : Is supplication after reciting the Qur'an recommended? And is raising the hands after that permissible or not?

The Shaykh : Praise be to Allah, Lord of the worlds, and I send prayers and peace upon our Prophet Muhammad, and upon his family and his Companions, and upon those who follow them with excellence until the Day of Judgment. It is not reported from the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) that when he recited the Qur'an and finished his recitation, he would make supplication or perform another remembrance. And whatever is not reported from the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) as an action, while its cause remains, is not part of the Sunnah; rather, leaving it is the Sunnah. Accordingly, when a person finishes his recitation, he closes the mushaf if he was reading from a mushaf, and the recitation ends with no supplication after it. Likewise, if he was reciting from memory, the recitation ends with no remembrance after it and no supplication. However, if a person says, "O Allah, accept from me," or a phrase similar to that, I hope there is no harm in that.
