If a person prays at home out of laziness without an excuse, is his prayer valid?

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The questioner : Abu Mu'adh from Riyadh has this question: If a person prays at home out of laziness without an excuse, is his prayer valid?

The Shaykh : The Shaykh al-Islam Ibn Taymiyyah (may Allah have mercy on him) held that his prayer is invalid and not accepted, even if he prays a thousand times. However, the correct view is that his prayer is valid, but he is sinful and bears the sin. If he persists in this, he is stripped of the description of justice, meaning he is not entrusted with any authority that requires justice, and he is deprived of much good, regarding which the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
Prayer said in a congregation is twenty-seven degrees more excellent than prayer said by a single person. صلاة الجماعة أفضل من صلاة الفذ بسبع وعشرين درجة
Sahih Muslim 650a
.

The questioner : May Allah reward you, O honorable Shaykh, and may Allah bless you.
