I read for you a fatwa stating that it is permissible to undergo cosmetic procedures if they are to remove a defect resulting from an accident or otherwise.

The questioner : I read to your eminence a fatwa stating that it is permissible to undergo cosmetic procedures if they are to remove a defect resulting from an accident or otherwise. My question, O honorable Shaykh, is: Is it permissible for a woman to uncover her face for a doctor if the defect is in the face and requires a procedure to correct this deformity? I ask for your guidance. May you be rewarded.

The Shaykh : Praise be to Allah, Lord of the worlds, and I send prayers and peace upon our Prophet Muhammad, and upon his family and all his Companions. As for what follows, I begin my answer to this question by returning the greeting to the questioner; peace be upon her, and the mercy and blessings of Allah. As for what you mentioned regarding uncovering the face for a doctor who removes a defect that occurred in it, this is permissible and there is no harm in it. However, if a woman is available to perform the treatment, she is more appropriate. If no woman is available, there is no harm in a man performing the treatment, but on the condition that he does not remain alone with the woman in a place by himself. This is because being alone with a woman is forbidden; the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) prohibited it while he was delivering a sermon to the people on the pulpit. As Abdullah ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with him and his father) said: I heard the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) delivering a sermon, saying:
No man should stay with a lady in seclusion except in the presence of a Dhu- Muhram. لا يخلون رجل بامرأة إلا مع ذي محرم
Sahih al-Bukhari 5233
If she needs to remove the defect in her face, and a mahram (a relative one may not marry) is with her to attend the procedure, thereby preventing the forbidden seclusion, then that is permissible and there is no harm in it. But the better option, if a woman is found who can take the place of the doctor, is that she not go to the man. Yes.

The questioner : May Allah bless you. The listener, also in the Riyadh region, who used the initials R S for her name,
