Prayer of the Paralyzed Person

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Question: I am a person whom Allah has afflicted with paralysis for four years, and praise be to Allah. This paralysis is in the lower half of the body, from the beginning of the abdomen to the bottom of the feet. Therefore, the excretions from the two passages come out without my knowledge or will. My question here is about prayer: how do I pray? Because if I pray, that may come out of me and I do not know
about it, especially since there are devices attached to my external passages through which I relieve myself, and they are attached to my body. It may come out of them without my feeling or sensing it. I am currently praying, so is my prayer in this state that I mentioned valid or not?

Answer: We ask Allah for your healing and well-being from what has befallen you. As for what you asked about regarding the ruling of your prayer while the excretions from the two passages come out and you do not feel them, and you cannot hold them back, your prayer is valid;because of His saying, the Exalted:
So fear Allah as much as you are ableفَاتَّقُوا اللَّهَ مَا اسْتَطَعْتُمْ
[al-Taghabun: 16] ;And by His saying, Exalted is He:
Allah does not charge a soul except [with that within] its capacityلَا يُكَلِّفُ اللَّهُ نَفْسًا إِلَّا وُسْعَهَا
[al-Baqarah: 286] ;And by the saying of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him):
And if I order you to do something, then do of it as much as you can.إذا أمرتكم بأمر فأتوا منه استطعتم
Sahih al-Bukhari 7288
, so this is the limit of your ability. However, you must not perform wudu' except when you intend to pray after the time has entered. You perform wudu' and then pray immediately, and you complete your prayer even if the excretions come out of you; because you cannot do more than that, and Allah the Exalted knows best.
