The Shaykh : The best time for prayer is at the beginning of its time, except for two prayers: the 'Isha' prayer, and the Zuhr prayer during the heat. As for the 'Isha' prayer, the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) used to recommend delaying it. One day he went out when most of the night had passed and said:
This is the proper time for it; were it not that I would impose a burden on my people إنه لوقتها لولا أن أشق على أمتي
Sahih Muslim 638c
.
As for the Zuhr prayer in the heat, he said:
When it is very hot, then wait for it to cool down before you pray, for intense heat is from the flaring up of the Hell-fire. إذا اشتد الحر فأبردوا بالصلاة فإن شدة الحر من فيح جهنم
Sunan Ibn Majah 677Sahih (Darussalam)
,
And he was on a journey, so when Bilal wanted to call the adhan at the zenith of the sun, he said: "Wait for the heat to subside." So he waited, then he stood to call the adhan and said: "Wait for the heat to subside." So he waited, then he stood to call the adhan and said: "Wait for the heat to subside," until the thing became equal in its shade.
, meaning that the shade had become abundant, and this means that the time for 'Asr was near, so he called the adhan. In these two prayers, the recommended practice (sunnah) is to delay, and for the rest, the recommended practice (sunnah) is to advance.
However, people should be considered, and a time should be allowed between the adhan and the iqamah that enables people to perform wudu' and to pray the rawatib if there is a rawatib before the prayer.
The scholars said: It is good to advance and hasten by occupying oneself with what is related to the prayer, such as purification, straightening one's garment, and the like.
