The Companions of Badr and those who pledged allegiance*** The purest of the land, the Pledge of Contentment (Discussion of the Companions of Badr and the Companions of the Tree, their numbers, and an explanation of their virtue)

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The Shaykh : Who are the army of the Qur'an? He said:
"the companions of Badr"
Those who fought at Badr, and they were three hundred and a few men. Allah singled them out with a special distinction when He looked upon them and said:
Do what you wish, I have forgiven you. اعملوا ما شئتم فقد غفرت لكم
Sunan Abi Dawud 2650Sahih (Al-Albani)
, and also:
"and those who pledged allegiance ***"
"Al-la" means "those who." Ibn Malik said: "The plural of al-la is alladhina" The plural of alladhi is al-la, meaning "and those who."
"and likewise the emigrants who pledged allegiance *** the pledge of رضوان, the purest of pledges"
The purest of the land, who? Muhammad, the Messenger of Allah. The Pledge of Contentment, because Allah said regarding this pledge:
Certainly was Allah pleased with the believers when they pledged allegiance to you, [O Muhammad], under the tree لقد رضي الله عن المؤمنين إذ يبايعونك تحت الشجرة
[Al-Fath 48:18]
Allah has decreed His pleasure upon them. And the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
No one who pledged under the tree will enter the Fire لا يدخل النار أحد بايع تحت الشجرة
As-Sunan al-Kubra lil-Nasa'i 65:525
, meaning: they will not enter it, neither temporarily nor permanently. Those who pledged under the tree pledged to the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) not to flee when it spread among the people that Uthman had been killed. Uthman had been sent by the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) to the people of Mecca for negotiation, so the people pledged, but Uthman (may Allah be pleased with him) was not present. However, the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) pledged on his behalf with his own hand, saying:
This is the hand of Uthman هذه يد عثمان
So he pledged with his hand using his other hand on behalf of Uthman (may Allah be pleased with him).
These who pledged numbered one thousand and four hundred men, all of whom pledged under the tree. This tree remained until it was reported to the Commander of the Faithful, 'Umar ibn al-Khattab (may Allah be pleased with him), the one who upheld the oneness of Allah and was sincere, that people were going to it. So he ordered it to be cut down, and it was uprooted from its base. Praise be to Allah who guided this caliph to this action. And Allah, if it had remained, it would have become like al-Lat and al-'Uzza, especially in this time. But praise be to Allah who guided this rightly guided caliph to this.
And look at the sincerity of this man in his oneness of Allah when he kissed the Black Stone and feared it would be a trial. He said: "By Allah, I know that you are a stone that neither harms nor benefits, and were it not that I saw the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) kissing you, I would not have kissed you" All of this is to keep people away from attaching themselves to stones and trees. So may Allah reward him for the Ummah of Muhammad with good. Yes.
