The Refutation of Those Who Say That 'Ali ibn Abi Talib Is the Caliph After the Messenger (peace and blessings be upon him)
Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The Shaykh : And with this, we know the lie of those who said that 'Ali ibn Abi Talib is the caliph after the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him). And we testify that the true caliph after the Messenger of Allah is Abu Bakr (may Allah be pleased with him). The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him and his family) indicated that he would be the caliph through clear matters.
Among them: When he fell ill, whom did he entrust to lead the people in prayer? Whom? Abu Bakr. He did not entrust 'Ali, nor 'Uthman, nor 'Umar, nor Ibn 'Abbas, nor anyone else. He entrusted Abu Bakr.
When he fell ill, he ordered that all the doors opening into the mosque be blocked except the door of Abu Bakr, indicating that he would be the caliph and that the people would come to him from the mosque.
When he was absent from the Hajj in the ninth year, I mean the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him and his family), who remained to perform the Hajj on behalf of the people? Abu Bakr (may Allah be pleased with him).
When a woman came to him with a need and he promised her the following year, she said, "O Messenger of Allah, what if I do not find you?" She said:.
And he said: And he said: Sahih Ibn Hibban 63:8 Look, the one who is the greatest in favor upon the Messenger is Abu Bakr.
And he said:Sahih al-Bukhari 3656.
And he was asked, "Who is the most beloved of people to you?" He said:.
So how is it possible after this for us to say that the caliphate is for 'Ali ibn Abi Talib? 'Ali ibn Abi Talib was in his exact position regarding the caliphate. And there is no doubt that he is the most deserving of the people of the caliphate after whom? After 'Uthman, there is no doubt. And whoever disputed with him regarding the caliphate is mistaken, but he is a mujtahid, and a mujtahid from this Ummah, if he errs, has one reward, and if he hits the mark, has two rewards.
The important thing is that it is obligatory upon us to accept the truth from whoever brings it, and to know men by the truth, not to know the truth by men, because if you knew the truth by men, you would accept the truth from so-and-so because he is a man in your estimation, and reject it from so-and-so because he is not a man in your estimation.
O Allah, show us the truth as truth and grant us the ability to follow it, and show us falsehood as falsehood and grant us the ability to avoid it, and do not make it ambiguous to us so that we go astray.
Now, to the lesson. Where is the reader? Yes, give it to me.

يأبى الله ورسوله والمؤمنون إلا أبا بكرThe one who is most trustworthy to me in his wealth and his companionship is Abu Bakr
