Mentioning the two descriptions of wudu' and mentioning what is obligatory in it

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The Shaykh : These two hadiths are about the description of wudu'. Know that wudu' has two descriptions: a description that is necessary and a description that is more excellent. The obligatory part is washing the face, which includes rinsing the mouth and sniffing water into the nose once; washing the hands from the tips of the fingers to the elbows, with the elbows included in the washing, once; wiping the head in any manner, such as this or that, once, and the ears are part of the head; and washing the feet to the ankles once. This is the wudu' that is necessary. It is necessary for the water to flow over the limb. Wiping is not sufficient except for the head. That is, if one wets his hand and wipes the forearm, it is not sufficient. The water must drip. As for the most complete form, yes, what is the evidence that this is the minimum obligatory amount? The evidence is the saying of Allah, Blessed and Exalted is He:
O you who have believed, when you rise to [perform] prayer, wash your faces and your forearms to the elbows and wipe over your heads and wash your feet to the ankles
[Al-Ma'idah 5:6]
. Only four things are mentioned: wash—apparently you are also around the time of sleep—read the verse. That is all.
wash your faces and your forearms to the elbows and wipe over your heads and wash your feet to the ankles اغسلوا وجوهكم وأيديكم إلى المرافق وامسحوا برءوسكم وأرجلكم إلى الكعبين
[Al-Ma'idah 5:6]
Four things; Allah did not mention anything other than these four. He qualified the hands with the elbows and the feet with the ankles. He did not qualify the face because the face is well known. The face is that by which one faces forward, extending from ear to ear in width and from the curve of the forehead to the bottom of the beard in length. This is the obligatory part that is necessary. The most complete form—listen.
First: wash your palms three times. Rinse your mouth, sniff water into your nose, and blow it out three times. Wash your face three times. Wash your hands three times, each hand three times. And start with the right before the left. Wipe the head once, starting from the front until you reach the back, then return. And this is once, why? Because going from the front to the back is considered one. Yes, it is considered half of one, why? The hair, as you know, hangs down at the front over the forehead and at the back toward the nape. So if you start like this, you have touched the hair from its undersides. And if you return, you have touched it from its upper sides, considering the hairline. And considering the nape, it is the opposite. Therefore, this repetition is considered one. You wipe the ears because the ears are part of the head. How many times do you wipe? Once.
