Is it obligatory to be just among the children in gifts, or not? And if the father bequeaths a car to one of his sons, is this bequest executed?

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The questioner : Is it required that if you buy something for one of your children, you give the other the same?

The Shaykh : Yes

The questioner : Likewise, a man.

The Shaykh : No, one by one.

The questioner : It is the same question: he bequeathed that a car be bought for his son after his death; is this bequest executed?

The Shaykh : As for the first, which is giving during one's lifetime, it is obligatory to be just among the children
for the male, what is equal to the share of two females لِلذَّكَرِ مِثْلُ حَظِّ الْأُنْثَيَيْنِ
[An-Nisa 4:11]
This is if the giving is a voluntary gift. But if the giving is to meet a need, then one gives each person what he needs. For example, if he has two sons, one of whom is studying and needs books, pens, ink, and other things, he gives to him and does not give to the other who is not studying. If one of them needs treatment, he treats him and does not give the other what he spent on this son's medicine and treatment. Likewise, women: a woman needs jewelry for her ears, neck, and head, while a boy does not need such things; so one buys for the female and does not buy for the male. You have understood this regarding maintenance. Also, if one of the two sons needs to marry his wife and the other is young and has not reached the age of marriage, one does not give to him. As for the bequest after death, it is absolutely forbidden, because the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
There is no bequest for an heir لا وصية لوارث
Yes.
