The reciter: And Ibn al-Muthanna and Ibn Abi 'Umar narrated to us. Ibn al-Muthanna said: 'Abd al-Wahhab narrated to us, saying: I heard Yahya ibn Sa'id say: 'Amrah informed me that she heard 'A'ishah say:
When the news of the killing of Ibn Harithah, Ja'far ibn Abi Talib, and 'Abd Allah ibn Rawahah reached the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him), the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) sat, and sadness was evident on him. She said: And I was looking from the edge of the door—the opening of the door—when a man came to him and said: O Messenger of Allah, the women of Ja'far... and he mentioned their weeping. So he ordered him to go and forbid them. So he went, then came back to him and mentioned that they had not obeyed him. So he ordered him the second time to go and forbid them. So he went, then came back to him and said: By Allah, they have overcome us, O Messenger of Allah. She said: So it was reported that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Go and throw dust in their mouths. 'A'ishah said: So I said: May Allah crush your nose! By Allah, you are not doing what the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) ordered you, and you have not spared the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) from trouble.
لَمَّا جَاءَ رَسُولَ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَتْلُ ابْنِ حَارِثَةَ وَجَعْفَرِ بْنِ أَبِي طَالِبٍ وَعَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ رَوَاحَةَ، جَلَسَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يُعْرَفُ فِيهِ الْحُزْنُ، قَالَتْ: وَأَنَا أَنْظُرُ مِنْ صَائِرِ الْبَابِ - شَقِّ الْبَابِ - فَأَتَاهُ رَجُلٌ فَقَالَ: يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ، إِنَّ نِسَاءَ جَعْفَرٍ، وَذَكَرَ بُكَاءَهُنَّ، فَأَمَرَهُ أَنْ يَذْهَبَ فَيَنْهَاهُنَّ، فَذَهَبَ، فَأَتَاهُ فَذَكَرَ أَنَّهُنَّ لَمْ يُطِعْنَهُ، فَأَمَرَهُ الثَّانِيَةَ أَنْ يَذْهَبَ فَيَنْهَاهُنَّ، فَذَهَبَ، ثُمَّ أَتَاهُ فَقَالَ: وَاللهِ، لَقَدْ غَلَبْنَنَا يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ، قَالَتْ فَزَعَمَتْ أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ: اذْهَبْ فَاحْثُ فِي أَفْوَاهِهِنَّ مِنَ التُّرَابِ قَالَتْ عَائِشَةُ: فَقُلْتُ: أَرْغَمَ اللهُ أَنْفَكَ، وَاللهِ، مَا تَفْعَلُ مَا أَمَرَكَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، وَمَا تَرَكْتَ رَسُولَ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ مِنَ الْعَنَاءِ
