Allah the Exalted said: << And We have enjoined upon man [good treatment] of his parents. But if they should endeavor to make you associate with Me that of which you have no knowledge, then do not obey them. To Me is your return, and I will inform you of what you used to do.

Then He the Exalted said:
And We have enjoined upon man goodness to parents وَوَصَّيْنَا الإِنْسَانَ بِوَالِدَيْهِ حُسْنًا
[Al-'Ankabut: 8] When He, Glorified and Exalted is He, mentioned in summary His right, what He threatened the disobedient with, and what He promised the obedient, He said:
And We have enjoined upon man goodness to وَوَصَّيْنَا الإِنْسَانَ بِوَالِدَيْهِ
[Al-'Ankabut 29:8]
An injunction is only for important matters. And His saying:
of his parents بِوَالِدَيْه
means his mother and his father.
with goodness حسنًا
The author said: "Yes, an injunction with goodness" So according to his view, his saying:
with goodnessحُسْنًا
is a description of an omitted word, meaning a good injunction, and
goodnessحُسْن
as you know is a verbal noun (masdar) and is not "hasan" (good). So if it is a verbal noun, it is obligatory to estimate its annexed word, which is "with goodness." This is what the author said. It is also possible, with a strong probability, that
with goodnessحسنًا
this is in the accusative case by the deletion of the preposition, meaning We charged him with goodness, and that "al-husn" (the goodness) here means "ihsan" (excellence in worship) as He the Exalted said in another verse:
And We have enjoined upon man, to his parents, good treatment. وَوَصَّيْنَا الإِنسَانَ بِوَالِدَيْهِ إِحْسَانًا
[Al-Hijr: 15] And this is closer than the author's estimation, and Allah knows best. Yes.
The student: ......?

The Shaykh : Yes, yes, this is the apparent meaning. This is the apparent meaning itself, as He the Exalted said:
It moves by Our eyes تَجْرِي بِأَعْيُنِنَا
[Al-Qamar: 14] meaning with our eyes, with our own eyes.
