Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The Shaykh : Then the author said: "Chapter: And We Believe in the Last Day, which is the Day of Resurrection after which there is no day".
This is one of the six pillars of faith
To believe in Allah, His Angels, His, Books, His Messengers, the Day of Judgement, and Al-Qadar, the good of it and the bad of it. الإيمان أن تؤمن بالله وملاكته وكتبه ورسله واليوم الآخر والقدر خيره وشره
Jami` at-Tirmidhi 2610Sahih (Darussalam)
. So this is the fifth pillar.
Regarding the Last Day, the author says: "It is the Day of Resurrection", then he explained the aspect of its description as the "Last," saying: "It is the one after which there is no day". It is the final stage, because a person has stages:
The first stage: in the womb of his mother. The second: in this world. The third: in the barzakh (the interval between death and resurrection). The fourth: the Day of Resurrection. So it is the final stage.
Therefore, one who says of the deceased that he has been transferred to his final resting place is mistaken. If a person truly believed this, he would be a disbeliever, because whoever says that the final resting place is the graves has denied the resurrection and becomes a disbeliever. And unfortunately, this phrase is common among people; we often hear it in newspapers and other places: "He has been transferred to his final resting place." This is an error. The final resting place is either Paradise or the Fire.
We believe in the Last Day because Allah the Exalted mentioned it in the Book, and the Prophet mentioned it in the Sunnah. Allah the Exalted often pairs belief in Him with the Last Day, meaning: He singles out belief in Him and the Last Day, because belief in the Last Day is what obliges a person to hasten to good and avoid evil, because he knows that the complete recompense will be on the Day of Resurrection. Good. The Last Day, he says: "When people are resurrected alive to remain, either in the Abode of Bliss or in the Abode of Painful Punishment".
Are people resurrected to remain eternally? Yes? Eternally or forever?
The student: Forever.

The Shaykh : Forever, because it is future, meaning they are resurrected to remain forever, to what has no end. Good.
He said: "So we believe in the resurrection, which is Allah the Exalted bringing the dead to life when Israfil blows the Trumpet the second time. The evidence for this is the saying of Allah the Exalted:
And the Horn will be blown, and whoever is in the heavens and whoever is on the earth will fall dead except whom Allah wills. Then it will be blown again, and at once they will be standing, looking on. ونفخ في الصور فصعق من في السموات ومن في الأرض إلا من شاء الله ثم نفخ فيه أخرى فإذا هم قيام ينظرون
[Az-Zumar 39:68]
. And Allah knows best"
