The Meaning of "So He Reduced Half of It" in the Hadith of the Night Journey

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Question:
When the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) returned, in this narration he said:
So He reduced half of itفوضع شطرها
?

Answer:
The narrations are well known; some explain others. It was five, five, until he made them five, as in the other narration. Sharik has errors in some of the narrations.
And Allah (Exalted and Majestic is He) inspired Musa to say this to his Prophet, and it had already been in His knowledge that He would make it five, and He made Musa refer Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) to this; so all of this is from the grace of Allah (Exalted and Majestic is He) who inspired Musa to say to the Prophet, and the Prophet returned to Allah after he consulted Jibril, who advised him to return, and all of this is from the grace of Allah (Exalted and Majestic is He); He is the One who inspired Musa, and inspired Muhammad, and inspired Jibril, and He was gracious with forgiveness until He made it five .
Q: Does "half" mean the half?
The Shaykh: Yes.
