Explanation of the author's statement: "And seeking a soft place for his urine"

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The Shaykh : Yes, he says "And his concealment, and his seeking a soft place for his urine". Seeking means looking for a place for his urine, meaning other than for his excrement, that is soft. It is said *rikha*, *rakha*, and *rukhwa*, so it is a trilateral root with the letter *ra*. *Rukhwa* means a soft place from which one does not fear the splashing of urine when it falls upon this softness. Why is it recommended? Because it is safer from splashing. And although the principle is that splashing does not reach you, it may open the door of obsessive doubt for you. Many people are afflicted with obsessive doubt in this situation. I say, I fear that some splashed on me, and then the soul begins to do its work until one remains doubtful about his state. So, the softer the place one chooses for urination, the better and more excellent it is. If it is on ground where there is nothing soft around it, what does one do? They said: he should bring his penis close to the ground so that it does not catch the splashing. This is correct. All of this is to avoid the obsessive doubts and suspicions that Satan casts into the heart of a person.
