The Ruling on the Sacrifice for a Newborn and Maintenance for the Child of Zina

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Question:
Is it permissible for the mother to perform the sacrifice for her child from zina, and does he have a right to maintenance?

Answer:
Yes, she may perform the sacrifice. It is recommended for her to perform the sacrifice for her child, and she must provide for his maintenance if she is able. If she is not able, he is handed over to the foster mothers in the state. If she is able, she raises him and treats him well, and performs the sacrifice for him. It is obligatory for her to raise him and to repent to Allah for what she did, and he is attributed to her.
The one who committed zina with her must repent, and he owes nothing of the maintenance. He is not his son; he is a child of zina. He must repent to Allah, and the child is hers, attributed to her, and she is responsible for his maintenance.
