Continuation of the explanation of the hadith: In which Noah says: (… Go to someone other than me, go to Ibrahim.

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The reader: Praise be to Allah, Lord of the worlds, and may prayers and peace be upon our Prophet Muhammad, and upon his family and all his Companions:
The author (may Allah have mercy on him) transmitted in his book *Riyad al-Salihin* in the context of " the hadith of Abu Hurayrah (may Allah be pleased with him):
So Noah (peace be upon him) says: Go to Ibrahim. They say: O Ibrahim, you are the Prophet of Allah and His intimate friend among the people of the earth, intercede for us with your Lord, do you not see what we are in? He says to them: My Lord has become angry today with an anger like which He has not become angry before, and He will not become angry with an anger like it after, and I used to tell three lies, myself, myself, myself, go to someone other than me, go to Musa, they come to Musa, they say: O Musa, you are the Messenger of Allah, Allah has preferred you over the people with His messengerships and His speech, intercede for us with your Lord, do you not see what we are in? He says: My Lord has become angry today with an anger like which He has not become angry before, and He will not become angry with an anger like it after, and I killed a soul without being ordered to kill it, myself, myself, myself, go to someone other than me, go to Isa, they come to Isa, they say: O Isa, you are the Messenger of Allah and His word which He cast to Maryam and a spirit from Him, and you spoke to the people in the cradle, intercede for us with your Lord, do you not see what we are in? Isa says: My Lord has become angry today with an anger like which He has not become angry before, and He will not become angry with an anger like it after, and he did not mention a sin, myself, myself, myself, go to someone other than me, go to Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him)
.
And in a narration:
They would come to me and say: O Mahammad, thou art the messenger of Allah and the last of the apostles. Allah has pardoned thee all thy previous and later sins. Intercede for us with thy Lord; don't you see in which (trouble) we are? Don't you see what (misfortune) has overtaken us? I shall then set off and come below the Throne and fall down prostrate before my Lord; then Allah would reveal to me and inspire me with some of His Praises and Glorifications which He had not revealed to anyone before me. He would then say: Muhammad, raise thy head; ask and it would be granted; intercede and intercession would be accepted I would then raise my head and say: O my Lord, my people, my people. It would be said: O Muhammad, bring in by the right gate of Paradise those of your people who would have no account to render. They would share with the people some other door besides this door. The Prophet then said: By Him in Whose Hand is the life of Muhammad, verify the distance between two door leaves of the Paradise is as great as between Mecca and Hajar, or as between Mecca and Busra.

The Shaykh : In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful:
The author (may Allah have mercy on him) mentioned the hadith of intercession in its full length from the hadith of Abu Hurayrah (may Allah be pleased with him), and that he (peace and blessings be upon him) is the master of the children of Adam on the Day of Resurrection, and it was previously mentioned that the people will be overtaken by sorrow and distress that they cannot bear, so they go to Adam to intercede for them, and he mentions his sin of eating from the tree and says: myself, myself, myself.
And they come to Noah to intercede for them, and he mentions that he cursed his people before permission was given to him, and he acknowledges and says: myself, myself, myself, and he refers them to Ibrahim (peace and blessings be upon him).
So the people come to Ibrahim and say: You are the intimate friend of Allah the Exalted on earth, and they mention of his attributes, intercede for us with your Lord, so he excuses himself and says: that he told three lies and says: myself, myself, myself.
And the lies are his saying:
Indeed, I am ill
: and he was not sick, but he said it challenging his people who worship the stars.
And the second is his saying to the disbelieving king:
This is my sister, meaning: his wife.
: to be safe from his evil, and she is not his sister.
And the third is his saying:
Rather, this - the largest of them - did it
[Al-Anbya 21:63]
: rather it was their eldest one who did it, meaning the idols, because Ibrahim (peace and blessings be upon him) went to their idols and broke them, so when they returned they found the idols broken:
They said: Who did this to our gods?
, so they said: it was a young man called Ibrahim who did it, and what passed between them and Ibrahim passed, and he said:
He said, "Rather, this - the largest of them - did it, so ask them, if they should [be able to] speak."
[Al-Anbya 21:63]
: and it was not their eldest one who did it, but rather Ibrahim (peace and blessings be upon him) did it, but he mentioned it by way of challenge to these who worship the idols.
These are lies in appearance, but in reality, and by virtue of his (peace and blessings be upon him) interpretation, they were not lies, but due to his intense scrupulousness and his shyness of Allah Blessed and Exalted is He, he excused himself with this excuse, and he says:
Myself! Myself! Myself! Go to someone else! Go to Musa.
Jami` at-Tirmidhi 2434Sahih (Darussalam)
.
So they come to Musa, and they mention of his attributes and that Allah the Exalted spoke to him directly and chose him over the people of the earth with His messengerships and His speech, so he mentions a sin and excuses himself, mentioning that he killed a soul before permission was given to him to kill it, and it was the Copt who was in a dispute with a man from the Children of Israel, and Musa was from the Children of Israel (peace and blessings be upon him), and the Copt was from the family of Pharaoh,
And the one from his faction called for help to him against the one from his enemy, so Moses struck him and [unintentionally] killed him.
[Al-Qasas 28:15]
: without being ordered to kill him, so he (peace and blessings be upon him) considered this to be something that stands between him and intercession for the creation, where he killed a soul without being ordered to kill it, and he said:
Myself! Myself! Myself! Go to someone else; Go to 'Eisa.
Jami` at-Tirmidhi 2434Sahih (Darussalam)
, so they come to Isa and they mention of the favor of Allah upon him that He breathed into him of His spirit, and that He is His word which He cast to Maryam and a spirit from Him, because Isa was created without a father, so he does not mention a sin, but he refers them to Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him), and this is a great honor for the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) where four of the prophets excused themselves by mentioning what they did, and one did not excuse himself with anything but considered that Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) was more deserving than him, so they come to the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) and he accepts that, and he prostrates under the Throne, and Allah opens for him from the praises and praise of Allah what He has not opened for anyone other than him.
Then it is said to him:
raise your head and speak, for you will be listened to; and ask, for your will be granted (your request); and intercede, for your intercession will be accepted
Sahih al-Bukhari 7510
: so he (peace and blessings be upon him) intercedes, saying:
O my Lord, my Ummah, my Ummah; O my Lord, my Ummah, my Ummah; O my Lord, my Ummah, my Ummah.
As-Sunan al-Kubra lil-Nasa'i 65:307
: so Allah accepts his intercession and it is said to him:
Admit your Ummah through the right gate of Paradise, and they will be partners with the people in the remaining gates.
.
And this contains a clear indication that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) is the most noble of the messengers, and the messengers are the best of the creation, as He Mighty and Majestic said:
And whoever obeys Allah and the Messenger - those will be with the ones upon whom Allah has bestowed favor of the prophets, the steadfast affirmers of truth, the martyrs and the righteous
[An-Nisa 4:69]
: these are the four categories who are the best of the creation: the prophets, the truthful ones, the martyrs, and the righteous ones, the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) is the best of them, and Allah is the one who grants success.
