Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Question:
A man had intercourse with his wife during the day in Ramadan while he was ignorant. When she passed away, he learned of the ruling. He asks whether he should fast on her behalf or pay the expiation?

Answer:
If he pays the expiation on her behalf, may Allah reward him with good; he should feed sixty poor people, may Allah reward him with good. And if he fasts, may Allah reward him with good. All of it is good.
Q: Does he fast while the expiation is still due on him?
A: He should fast if he is able, otherwise he should feed sixty poor people.
