The ruling on a sick person appointing another to perform the farewell and departure circumambulations on their behalf

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Question:
This is a case similar to one that came up before, and the person involved this time is Mr. Muhammad Abu Shanab from the Arab Republic of Egypt, who resides in al-Qassim for work, as he says: My case is summarized as follows: My wife was very sick and was unable to perform both the departure circumambulation (Tawaf al-Ifadah) and the farewell circumambulation (Tawaf al-Wada') together. So, I appointed someone to perform them on her behalf, and he did so. Is this action valid, Shaykh Abdulaziz?

Answer:
No, she must return. Appointing someone to do this is not valid, neither for the departure circumambulation nor for the farewell circumambulation. Rather, if she is unable to walk, she should be carried while performing the circumambulation, either in a carriage or on the shoulders of men, and she should not appoint someone. Yes, so she must return from al-Qassim and perform the departure circumambulation, which is sufficient for her regarding the farewell circumambulation, unless she stays after performing the departure circumambulation for a long time, in which case she must also perform the farewell circumambulation. However, if she performs the departure circumambulation and then leaves, that is sufficient for her regarding the farewell circumambulation. Yes.

The presenter : May Allah reward you with good, and may He do you good.
