Advice for one afflicted with a disobedient father who uses foul language

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Question:
One of the female listeners, who indicated her name with the letters (K), (A), and (H), says: I am a young woman, and I have a father who does not fulfill what Allah has made obligatory upon him in terms of duties and obligations. He commits great sins, including: undutifulness to parents, failing to raise his children well, failing to care for the home and manage it, and failing to look into its affairs. He constantly humiliates me in front of relatives and strangers, the noble and the lowly, and he utters extremely ugly words about me. He is also negligent in my rights regarding clothing, food, and other things. He constantly seeks to tarnish my image among people. So, should I respond to him when he utters ugly words? Or should I remain silent and not respond to him with anything? Please note that his treatment of everyone is the same treatment he gives to the daughter, the son, and the wife. May Allah reward you with good.

Answer:
Allah (Exalted and Majestic is He) says in His noble Book:
Be grateful to Me and to your parents; to Me is the [final] destination.أَنِ اشْكُرْ لِي وَلِوَالِدَيْكَ إِلَيَّ الْمَصِيرُ
[Luqman:14]
But if they endeavor to make you associate with Me that of which you have no knowledge, do not obey them but accompany them in [this] world with appropriate kindnessوَإِنْ جَاهَدَاكَ عَلى أَنْ تُشْرِكَ بِي مَا لَيْسَ لَكَ بِهِ عِلْمٌ فَلا تُطِعْهُمَا وَصَاحِبْهُمَا فِي الدُّنْيَا مَعْرُوفًا
[Luqman:15]. This polytheist father who commands shirk (associating partners with Allah), Allah (Exalted and Majestic is He) says about him:
but accompany them in [this] world with appropriate kindnessوَصَاحِبْهُمَا فِي الدُّنْيَا مَعْرُوفًا
[Luqman:15]. And they are two polytheist parents who command shirk. So, you must be patient, speak kindly to your father, and pray for his guidance. Pray for his guidance, and speak kindly. May Allah guide you, keep you safe, and grant you success; because he has treated you badly, and others as well. So, you must be patient, and not face this trial except with patience and kind words, as Allah (Exalted and Majestic is He) said regarding polytheist parents:
but accompany them in [this] world with appropriate kindnessوَصَاحِبْهُمَا فِي الدُّنْيَا مَعْرُوفًا
[Luqman:15]. So, if he does not pray, he is a polytheist, and he is to be treated as Allah said:
but accompany them in [this] world with appropriate kindnessوَصَاحِبْهُمَا فِي الدُّنْيَا مَعْرُوفًا
[Luqman:15].
So, be patient, direct supplication to him, and ask Allah at times when supplication is answered to grant him guidance, protect him from Satan, and place mercy and patience in his heart toward his children, and to guide him to be dutiful to his parents, and so on.
It is obligatory for you to be patient, to accompany him with kindness, to ask Allah for his guidance, and to seek the lawful means of guidance for your father through kind words, by advising his parents to counsel him, by advising his friends and companions to counsel him, and by other means of good. Yes.

The presenter : May Allah reward you with good, and may He do you good.
