Question:
She says: My husband takes a monthly amount from his salary and allocates it to one of his needy relatives. I encourage him to do so and encourage him to maintain his family ties. Do I have a reward for this specifically regarding the charity, or is it only he who receives the reward on the basis that it is from his salary, while I do not work? And is there a reward in my dealings with my husband's family, since they are not among my own relatives?
Answer:
You have done well in that, and you have a great reward, and he has a great reward. May Allah reward him with good, and he has the glad tidings of replacement from Allah and reward. Allah the Exalted says:[Saba:39], and Hein His great Book:[Al-Baqarah:245], and He the Exalted says:[Al-Muzzammil:20], and the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:Al-Adab Al-Mufrad 56, and he said regarding the womb, Allah (Glorified and Exalted is He) says: Sahih al-Bukhari 5989.
And you have a reward in the encouragement and exhortation. You have a great reward because your work is in the category of assisting in good. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) says:Jami` at-Tirmidhi 1425Sahih (Darussalam), and Allah the Exalted says in His great Book: [Surat al-Ma'idah: 2]. So you have a reward, and be glad with the good. Yes.
