The ruling on one who leaves fasting in Ramadan on the pretext of heavy labor

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Question:
A message was received for the program from the brother listener, Nur al-Din Adam, from the Syrian Arab Republic, Al-Hasakah Governorate, Halaliyyah Village. He says in his message: I am a young man of seventeen years old. I pray and I read the Qur'an, and I stay away from what is evil and sins. But my problem is that when the time of Ramadan comes, I do not fast the month; and that is because I do heavy work, especially in the days of summer. So, is it permissible for me to fast at other times? Or what must I do? Guide us, may Allah reward you with good.

Answer:
You must make up the fasts along with repentance. You make up the fasting, and you repent to Allah (Exalted and Majestic is He). In the future, you fast with the people, and you leave the work that is hard for you. You do work that does not make it hard for you while fasting. If you are not able to do so except by leaving the work, then leave the work, and save up from your work in Sha'ban and before it what is sufficient for you in Ramadan. Save up from your money and wages that you obtain in Sha'ban and Rajab, and what comes before them, what will help you to fast Ramadan. Or arrange yourself for work that does not make it hard for you, and with which you are able to fast. As for being lax, and being eager for this world, and doing heavy work, and leaving the fast; this is not permissible for you.
So fear Allah as much as you can. Do a little work if you need it, provided it does not prevent you from fasting. Otherwise, save up from your work before Ramadan. Save up from its wages what will help you to be free to fast with the Muslims. We ask Allah for guidance and success for us and for you. Yes.

The presenter: O Allah, amen. May Allah reward you with good! Your Eminence, the Shaykh, those who issue rulings to workers, and those who do heavy work, that it is permissible to break the fast in Ramadan, are they right?

The Shaykh: We do not know a basis for this. I say it has no basis. It is obligatory that they work to the extent of their capacity. And if work is necessary, then let them postpone the work to after Ramadan, and save up from their previous work what will help them to fast Ramadan. So, laxity in this matter has great evil, and its consequence is severe.
So it is obligatory not to be lax in this matter. But if he finds work with which he is able to fast, then there is no blame on him for working in Ramadan and fasting. As for if breaking the fast is necessary, then let him leave the work that forces him to break the fast, and let him seek help from Allah for his fasting with the money he has from before. Yes.

The presenter : May Allah bless you.
