Does the deceased sense what his family does?

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Question:
Does the deceased, after entering the grave and his soul ascending to its Creator, sense his family in this world and what they did after his death?

Answer:
There is no basis for this. When a person dies, his knowledge of the people of this world is cut off. When a person dies, his knowledge of the people of this world is cut off. He (Exalted and Majestic is He) said:
Indeed, you will not make the dead hearإِنَّكَ لا تُسْمِعُ الْمَوْتَى
[Surat al-Naml: 80]. He the Exalted said:
but you cannot make hear those in the graves.وَمَا أَنْتَ بِمُسْمِعٍ مَنْ فِي الْقُبُورِ
[Surat Fatir: 22].
The point is:
When a man dies, his deeds come to an end except for three things: Sadaqah Jariyah (ceaseless charity); a knowledge which is beneficial, or a virtuous descendant who prays for him (for the deceased).أن الميت إذا مات انقطع عمله إلا من ثلاث: صدقة جارية، أو علم ينتفع به، أو ولد صالح يدعو له
Riyad as-Salihin 1383
and he does not know the conditions of people after him, neither the conditions of his family nor those of others. Yes.

The presenter: May Allah reward you, O Shaykh.
