Question:
This is a questioner from Yemen who says in this question: Your Eminence! What is the interpretation of this noble verse:
Unquestionably, [for] the allies of Allah there will be no fear concerning them, nor will they grieve
[Yunus 10:62]
those who believed and used to fear Allah [Yunus:62-63]?

Answer:
In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful. Praise be to Allah, and may Allah send prayers and blessings upon the Messenger of Allah, and upon his family and his Companions, and upon those who follow his guidance. As for what follows:
This noble verse explains the state of the awliya (close friends of Allah), that there is no fear for them and no sorrow for them; because of their faith and their mindfulness of Allah. He (Exalted and Majestic is He) says:
Unquestionably, [for] the allies of Allah there will be no fear concerning them, nor will they grieve
[Yunus:62], then He interpreted them by saying:
Those who believed and were fearing Allah
[Yunus:63].
So the awliya (close friends of Allah) are the people of faith and mindfulness of Allah. They are those who were sincere to Allah in worship, were upright upon His religion, and feared Him (Exalted and Majestic is He), so they fulfilled His obligations, abandoned His prohibitions, and stood by His limits. These are the awliya (close friends of Allah), the people of faith and mindfulness of Allah... the people of insight... the people of truth who were sincere to Allah in worship and did not associate anything with Him, then they fulfilled His obligations, kept away from His prohibitions, and stood by His limits. These are the awliya (close friends of Allah). There is no fear for them, nor sorrow, but rather for them is Paradise, honor, and happiness. For this noble verse:
Unquestionably, [for] the allies of Allah there will be no fear concerning them, nor will they grieve
[Yunus 10:62]
those who believed and used to fear Allah[Yunus:62-63], there is no fear for them in the future, and they will not grieve over what they left behind in this world.
And they are the ones mentioned in His saying (Exalted and Majestic is He):
Indeed, they who have believed and done righteous deeds - those are the best of creatures.
[Al-Bayyinah 98:7]
Their reward from their Lord is gardens of Eden, with rivers flowing beneath them, to abide therein forever. Allah is pleased with them and they are pleased with Him. That is for whoever fears his Lord[Al-Bayyinah:7-8], and in His saying (Exalted is He):
Indeed, those who have believed and done righteous deeds - they will have the Gardens of Paradise as a lodging,إِنَّ الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا وَعَمِلُوا الصَّالِحَاتِ كَانَتْ لَهُمْ جَنَّاتُ الْفِرْدَوْسِ نُزُلًا ۝
[Al-Kahf 18:107]
abiding therein, not desiring to move from it[Al-Kahf:107-108], and the verses in this meaning are many. Yes.

The presenter: May Allah reward you, O Shaykh.
