What is the ruling on reciting the Qur'an for three days in the deceased's home and slaughtering animals on the day of death?

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The questioner : Finally, he asks about reciting the Qur'an for three days in the deceased's home, and slaughtering animals on the day of death?

The Shaykh : This is also from religious innovations, from forbidden innovations, and a waste of wealth, and a renewal of sorrows. It was not the custom of the Salaf (may Allah be pleased with them) to gather in the deceased's home to receive condolences. Rather, these are newly invented matters. There is no doubt that the guidance of the righteous Salaf is the most complete and the best.
So I advise my Muslim brothers everywhere to adhere to the guidance of the righteous Salaf, for that is better. Adhering to their guidance is what Allah (Mighty and Majestic) intended by His saying:
And the first forerunners [in the faith] among the Muhajireen and the Ansar and those who followed them with good conduct والسابقون الأولون من المهاجرين والأنصار والذين اتبعوهم بإحسان
[At-Tawbah 9:100]
. It is necessary for us to follow them with excellence, not to exceed their method or diminish it. Yes.
