The ruling on a man wearing a gold ring during the engagement period

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The fifth question in the letter from the sister Istibrig from Iraq reads: The prohibition of wearing gold for men came on the tongue of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him), but in this time there has become a custom that men wear a gold ring on their finger when they propose to a woman, and even after their marriage to her is completed. I ask you to give the ruling of the Shari'ah on this, and may you have reward and recompense from Allah?
Answer: It is not permissible for a man to wear a gold ring, neither at the time of marriage, nor after it, nor before it; it is not permissible. This is because the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) prohibited wearing a gold ring in the authentic hadiths. And when he saw a gold ring on a man's hand, he took it off and threw it away, and said:
One of you takes a coal of fire and puts it in his handيعمد أحدكم إلى جمرة من النار فيضعها في يده
Narrated by Muslim in the Sahih.
This indicates to us the prohibition of wearing a gold ring for men, and that it is not permissible absolutely, whether it is at the time of marriage, or before it, or after it. Yes.
