The Ruling on Dyeing Hair and Using Gold Teeth

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
She also has some similar questions, asking: What is the ruling on using a zipper in women's clothing? Then, is it permissible for me to change my hair color to red? Then, is it permissible for women and men to use gold teeth?
Answer: As for the zipper, the matter is easy. Having it in the front is better and more appropriate, but if it is in the back for reasons necessitated by public benefit, there is no harm, provided one is careful to cover the private parts and the body from the front and the back. One should be diligent in covering her private parts from the front and the back; this is the obligatory requirement. As for whether the zipper is in the front or the back, the matter is easy, but it is better in the front, as per the known old custom, and because that makes it easier to secure the private parts and keep the clothing in place on the body.
The presenter: And regarding dyeing the hair?
The Shaykh: As for dyeing the hair, it is not permissible if it is with pure black. However, if it is dyed with red, yellow, or black mixed with henna, there is no harm in that. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
Change this white hair and avoid black.غيروا هذا الشيب وجنبوه السواد
This indicates that changing the gray hair is a recommended practice (sunnah) and desirable, but not with pure black. And if the hair is changed to red or yellow, there is no blame on him.
The presenter: And if, Shaykh, it is for a young woman, for example, who wants to change it, for example, from black?
The Shaykh: If it is for beauty, there is no harm. If it is for beauty, it is a matter about which there is no prohibition. Yes.
The presenter: And regarding gold teeth for men and women?
The Shaykh: It is permissible for women specifically. As for men, it is not allowed except for necessity. If a man needs it, not for adornment, but because his teeth have fallen out, and because gold is more durable and cleaner, then if he does it for necessity, there is no harm. And if he uses other metals, that is better and safer, if Allah wills. And if he attaches them with gold wires, attaching his other teeth with gold wires, there is no harm. This has been narrated from a group of the Companions of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him).
The conclusion is that if it is for necessity, there is no harm. It is established that he (peace and blessings be upon him) ordered some of his Companions, when their noses were cut off in some of the battles, to put in silver. When it changed color on them, he ordered them to put gold in its place. This indicates that gold for necessity is not a problem, not for the sake of adornment. And if he makes teeth from other metals and attaches them with something of gold, there is no blame on him.
As for women, their matter is broader; because gold and silk are made lawful for them, unlike men. Yes.
The presenter: May Allah reward you.
